What was it Oscar Wilde said, that living is most rare and that the majority of us just exist? Something like that, and the man had a point: with all the must and shoulds that tend to dictate our lives, it can be hard to forget what life’s really about. And what is it about? That’s up to you, as long as it makes you feel like you’re really living it!

Scroll down for a little assembly of things that you can do to feel alive, wherever and whenever!
Pro tip: Follow this list to the letter or just use it as inspiration – we’re all bundles of unique genes and memes, so find what works for you!
This is one of our most important steps in any aspect of life. Especially when it comes to living a life of yes. You need to be confident in yourself, you need to be happy with yourself and above all, you need to remember this is your life to live. Take a moment each day to reflect. A few minutes to remember that self-love is the most important kind of love.
Yep. We’re never gonna let you chill in your comfort zone for too long. The good thing about facing fear is that you can do it on your own terms; it can be anything from making a phone call to climbing that crazy scary mountain in China, and if you think you might bail, remember how goddamn good you’ll feel afterward!
Sometimes it’s awesome and super-motivational and inspiring to have a clear goal, but other times getting a metaphorical participation medal is all you need. Why? Because then you can have fun for the sake of having fun, and not get discouraged because you think you might not be any good at it.
Being kind is nice. And feels nice. So try to introduce some more kindness to your daily life; it doesn’t matter if it’s friends, family or complete strangers – everyone deserves to have their day brightened every now and then. And, there’s someone else who can benefit from that, too. You. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself, whatever you do!
Yep, we’re never gonna shut up about this one, because if you’re online you’re always available, and availability means possible stress. Now, the stress can be positive and doesn’t have to be bad, but sometimes your poor brain just needs a break. It’ll also make it easier to focus on what you’re doing, pretty awesome huh?!
Sign up for that course. Book that trip. Take an hour off the grid every night. However big or small, don’t let thoughts like “there’s no time” or “why start, I know I’ll just bail eventually” get in the way. If you want to do something, then do it! But it’s also important to cut yourself some slack and not expect perfection. Try to balance it all!
Know what’s boring? Tidying up. Know what’s less boring? Pretending that zombies will eat you if you don’t get those socks in the right drawer, or that the gross hairs stuck in the drain are a slime monster that needs to be taken out of business asap. That’s a lot less boring. You can include a competitive element, but sometimes just messing around is more fun!
Make sure that you make the most of your days. Basically, try to eliminate those things that you just kind of do out of habit, like watching three episodes on Netflix instead of just one, or just idly scrolling through Facebook instead of checking out what you’re interested in and then do something else. You’ll have so much more time to do awesome things.
This is another one that can be as big and small as you’d like, everything from paragliding above a sea of piranhas wearing suits of razor blades (not recommended) to watching a scary movie. The point is to get some of that sweet adrenaline pumping through your veins, there’s no other rush quite like it!
No, not on purpose, but some days are just rubbish and you might as well make the most of it. Let all your anger, frustration and disappointment out – in a controlled, positive way, like boxing or meditate the stresses of life away. Just remember, the point is to let go of negative feelings, and return to the present ready to make the most of life.
